Statement:
"ECHO (Encountering Christ in Others) of Cape Cod is a
Catholic, community-based experience initiated by a weekend
retreat, focused on the living presence of Jesus Christ encountered
in others and self. The ECHO program is directed toward the
awakening, and the developing of a response to, the three basic
areas of Identity (Who am I?), Integrity (Where am I?), and
Vocation (Where am I going?) as they are emerging in the lives
of teenagers."
YOU ARE INVITED : to celebrate 35 years of ECHO on Cape Cod on May 13th at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church . We hope that many “Old Timers” and recent candidates and team will all make a special effort to attend.
We constantly meet friends from long ago who sing the praises of ECHO and comment on the difference it has made in their lives.
With over 7,000 attendees over these many years, think of the impact ECHO has had on the Church on Cape Cod . Many are serving on Parish Councils, on Cursillo, Emmaus, and REC teams; many as Religious Ed teachers; many as Deacons; the ministries are many and varied but they all are living the message, “Christ is Counting on You.”
There will be refreshments in the Parish Center at the conclusion and we hope you will join us. Make sure you sign the Guest Book and remember to check one of the four albums listing the complete teams from every weekend. (After 35 years there are too many lists to post around the room.) If you know the year of your ECHO you will be able to locate your weekend. Names of all Rectors and Rectoras will also be posted.
An invitation has been extended to music ministry members from the past to join in the celebration. Contact Kris Hill at lavaland@digitalquill.com
Our Youth Board is planning a true celebration.

Community News :
‘HeroesAward’: In the last newsletter I omitted the name of Patrick McNamara who also received this award with Sean Sheehan and Bobbi Paradise. This Role Model/Mentor award is certainly well deserved by all three and the ECHO community congratulates all of you.
Good Friday Canal Walk : Nice picture of Becca Davies and Kim Manning carrying the large cross appeared in the Anchor. Additional Echo friends appeared in the group photo. God bless you all for your sacrifice on Good Friday!
Reunion Groups : Large numbers continue to attend the weekly programs on Tuesday at Christ the King at 7p.m. and on Thursday at 7:30p.m. at Our Lady of Victory.
Doug Rodrigues, Tim Acton and Susie Brown have been leading the OLV group on Thursday and announced that they will continue reunions until the end of the school year.
Recent National Study of Youth and Religion reported that ‘religion really does matter’ to teens
‘but their religious knowledge is remarkably shallow and they have a tough time expressing the difference that faith makes in their lives.’
The recent discussions and topics at reunions have challenged both teens and adults to know more about their faith. If you haven’t been for awhile, come and join us.
