March, 2005, Volume 14, No. 6
www.echoofcapecod.org

Mission Statement:
"ECHO (Encountering Christ in Others) of Cape Cod is a Catholic, community-based experience initiated by a weekend retreat, focused on the living presence of Jesus Christ encountered in others and self. The ECHO program is directed toward the awakening, and the developing of a response to, the three basic areas of Identity (Who am I?), Integrity (Where am I?), and Vocation (Where am I going?) as they are emerging in the lives of teenagers."

E-Mail: We are trying to update our e-mail. If you receive an invitation e-mail from Yahoo Groups/Echo Cape Cod , please open it and respond if you wish to receive Echo e-mails. You can check ‘no’ if you do not wish to receive them. Echo e-mail provides us a link to the community, updates on candidates for weekends, and also a place for you to place prayer requests. If you were not on an ECHO in the past two years and wish to join this group send an e-mail with your e-mail address to

WELCOME: to all ECHO 239 team and candidates.

The ECHO community learned an important lesson from all of you. Numbers are not important! There were nine candidates, but the depth of your sharing and that of the team was a renewal for all of us. Jesus isn’t looking for numbers; He came to fill hearts with His great love. Your sharing spread that love to the Echo community.

ECHO 240 will begin on Friday, Mar.4th and the closing will be held at Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville on Sunday Mar.6th at 7 p.m. Plan to support the team and candidates with your palanca. Once again we remind you that palanca means prayer and sacrifice, the lifting of our hearts and minds to Jesus asking Him to touch the hearts of the candidates and fill them with His Spirit. The Palanca Room is located in the Recreation Building on Main Street , Centerville and is open from 6:30 to 9p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 10a.m. - 8p.m. The Palanca Room is not open on Sunday. Please make sure all Palanca is there by 7p.m. Saturday so it can be sorted. Palanca may not be delivered by sponsors or family to Craigville.

The Palanca Room for this weekend will be run by Victoria Vendola, Maggie Oickle, Mike Noonan, and mentor Colby Ouellette. Please support them with your prayers and palanca.

The theme for ECHO 240 is “Jesus Maker of my Heart” from a song “Come to Me” by Celine Dion.

I will always love you, no matter what, no matter where you go, or what you do

Knowing you, your gonna have to do things your way, and that’s okay

So be free, spread your wings and promise me just one thing ...

If you ever need a place to cry, baby come to me, come to me.

I’ve always known that you were born to fly. But you can come to me

If the world breaks your heart, no matter where on earth you are, you can come to me

Don’t walk around with the world on your shoulders and your highest hopes laying on the ground

I know you think you’ve gotta try to be my hero, but don’t you know

The stars you wish upon, they fall that’s true, but I still believe in you.

And those seven seas you sail or the winding road you roam leave you feeling lost and feeling alone, let my heart be your beacon home.

Please plan to join the young women of ECHO 240 as they celebrate the gift of Jesus in their lives.
