Statement:
"ECHO (Encountering Christ in Others) of Cape Cod is a
Catholic, community-based experience initiated by a weekend
retreat, focused on the living presence of Jesus Christ encountered
in others and self. The ECHO program is directed toward the
awakening, and the developing of a response to, the three basic
areas of Identity (Who am I?), Integrity (Where am I?), and
Vocation (Where am I going?) as they are emerging in the lives
of teenagers."
CELEBRATING 35 Years of ECHO: Many thanks to all who have given so generously to our fund raising appeal to commemorate this event. A special thanks to the St. Vincent de Paul Society from Mount Carmel Parish in New Bedford who donated $100 to ECHO. (Fr. Jack Oliveira, Pastor was on the first ever ECHO.)
Remember to mark your calendars for May 13thto help us celebrate 35 years of Echo on Cape Cod.
ECHO 237: What a gift Keith Caldwell, team and candidates were with their sharing at the closing. It was a lively, joyful, Spirit filled weekend.
Thanks to Kourtney McNamara and Mike Hebenstreit and mentor Anne Ginnetty for an awesome job coordinating the palanca room.
ECHO 238 will begin on Friday, Jan.14th and the closing will be held at Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville on Sunday Jan.16th at 7 p.m. Plan to support the team and candidates with your palanca. Once again we remind you that palanca means prayer and sacrifice, the lifting of our hearts and minds to Jesus asking Him to touch the hearts
of the candidates and fill them with His Spirit. The Palanca Room is located in the Recreation Building on Main Street, Centerville and is open from 6:30 to 9p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 10a.m. - 8p.m. The Palanca Room is not open on Sunday. Please make sure all Palanca is there by 7p.m. Saturday so it can be sorted. Palanca may not be delivered by sponsors or family to Craigville.
The Palanca Room for this weekend will be run by Shannon Cunningham, Tania Pacheco and mentor Amanda Soares. Please support them with your prayers and presence.
The theme for ECHO 238 is “This is the journey not the destination” (Mother Teresa) The theme song is “Heaven” by Los Lonely Boys.
Please plan to join the young women of ECHO 238 as they celebrate the gift of Jesus in their lives.
Save me from this prison, Lord help me get away
Cause only you can save me now from this misery
Cause I’ve been lost in my own place
And I’m gettin’ weary. How far is heaven
And I know I need to change my way of livin’
How far is heaven, Lord can you tell me
I’ve been locked up way too long
In this crazy world, how far is heaven
I just keep on prayin’ Lord
Just keep on livin’; how far is heaven
Lord can you tell me, how far is heaven
I just got to know how far, how far is heaven
Lord can you tell me
