CHRIST'S LOVE

September, 2003, Volume 12, No. 1
www.echoofcapecod.org

Congratulations: to our new Bishop George W. Coleman! Bishop Coleman is no stranger to the Cape and to our ECHO program having served as Spiritual Director on Echo 38, 43, 50, 56, 62, and 65. How blest all of us to have such a holy and dedicated priest answer the call to be our Bishop. Check out our website www.echoofcapecod for pictures of Bishop Coleman and remember to pray that God will continue to bless him with wisdom in the many difficult decisions he will face.

IMPORTANT ADULT MEETING: Sept. 18th at 7p.m. at Our Lady of Victory. Dr. Joseph Ryan will discuss legal issues working with teenagers and the importance of following Diocesan Guidelines. We live in different times and we need to make sure our young people are protected at all times.

We hope to see parents and past and future team members at this informative meeting.

Opening Mass: will begin the ECHO year at 7:00p.m. on Sept. 23 at Christ the King Parish in Mashpee. The Youth Board and Community Liaison will be working together to plan this Liturgy. We hope to see many new and old friends there to help us celebrate the beginning of the 34th year of ECHO of CAPE COD. Refreshments will follow.
New applications will be available.

CAPE COD CATHOLIC COLLEGE /UNIVERSITY FAIR will also be held on Sept. 23 at Christ the King Parish Hall from 6 – 8p.m. Parents and high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors are invited to attend. Note that it begins at 6p.m. That will give ample time for you to attend the College Fair and then attend the opening ECHO liturgy.

ECHO BOARD: met throughout the summer defining its objectives for 2003 - 2004, reviewing talk outlines, discussing a mission statement, developed ways to encourage additional adult involvement, and defined leadership roles in the Echo Program. Doug Rodriques, a consultant from California led our discussions and we all left our meetings with a new sense of unity and dedication to the program.

ECHO 231 will be held on Nov.7-9. Applications are now being accepted for this Girls Echo. Please pray for Jean Giddings as she discerns for team.

Crosses: may be donated for any ECHO weekend in memory of a loved one. Call Mary Fuller if you wish to sponsor a weekend at 508-759-4265. (Cost: $125 per weekend)

Remember Jesus is our forever Friend; He walks the journey of life with us. Make time for Him!
